MLC 2025 Playoffs Set: Teams, Schedule, and Venue in Dallas

The Major League Cricket (MLC) 2025 season has reached its climax, with the playoff teams now confirmed after a thrilling group stage. Washington Freedom (WF) emerged as the top team, closely followed by Texas Super Kings (TSK) and San Francisco Unicorns (SFU). MI New York (MI NY) secured the final playoff spot.

The race for the top spot was fiercely contested, with only two points separating the top three teams. TSK and SFU were separated by a mere 0.273 in net run rate (NRR) after finishing with the same number of points. MI NY secured the fourth spot, despite being eight points behind the top teams, edging out Seattle Orcas due to a superior NRR. Los Angeles Knight Riders (LAKR) had a disappointing season, managing only two wins in ten matches.

Washington Freedom dominated the group stage, securing 16 points with eight wins out of ten matches. Their only losses came against the Unicorns and TSK. They demonstrated their strength in chasing, with six of their wins coming when batting second.

Faf du Plessis led Texas Super Kings to two streaks of three consecutive wins, ultimately finishing with 14 points and a strong NRR of 1.603. The Unicorns initially led the standings but lost momentum towards the end of the group stage, impacting their position.

MI New York secured the final playoff spot despite a lackluster performance, with only three wins in ten matches. Their qualification was largely due to the struggles of Orcas and LAKR. Notably, MI NY's wins came against Orcas and twice against LAKR.
