Vishnu Manchu has openly addressed the significant contribution of Prabhas's cameo in his film Kannappa, acknowledging the star power the actor brought to the project. This comes amidst ongoing discussions about whether Prabhas's appearance overshadowed the film itself.
Following the release of Kannappa on June 27th, Prabhas has received praise from audiences on social media for his portrayal of Rudra. Notably, filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma sent a message to Vishnu, stating that while people may initially come to the theater for Prabhas, he himself was buying a ticket to see Vishnu.
Vishnu Manchu openly discussed the impact of Prabhas's cameo at a post-release event for Kannappa. When asked if he believed Prabhas's presence significantly contributed to the film's reach and reception, he responded affirmatively.
"100 per cent I believe that. Some people may debate about Kannappa’s subject. But I’ve no ego. I have no ego to accept my brother Prabhas’ opening scene. I know that," Vishnu stated. He further emphasized, "Because of him, you all are interested in watching Kannappa’s story. After his opening, you have come to learn about Kannappa. So it is purely because of my brother."
