Wimbledon 2025: 22-year-old Carlos Alcaraz is looking to become only the fourth man to complete a three-peat in the grass-court major after Bjorn Borg, Pete Sampras, Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic.

Carlos Alcaraz has set his sights on a rare feat at Wimbledon 2025: winning his third consecutive title. The young Spaniard is determined to etch his name alongside legends like Bjorn Borg, Pete Sampras, Roger Federer, and Novak Djokovic, who have all achieved this remarkable three-peat at the prestigious grass-court major.

Fresh off his recent victory at the HSBC Championships, where he triumphed over Jiri Lehechka in the final, Alcaraz exudes confidence as he heads into Wimbledon.

"I'm coming here thinking that I really want to win the title, I really want to lift the trophy," Alcaraz told reporters. He emphasized his focus on preparing himself to start the tournament with high confidence, rather than dwelling on the historical significance of potentially joining the exclusive club of three-time consecutive Wimbledon champions.

Alcaraz's Confidence Soars

Alcaraz acknowledged the demanding nature of a Grand Slam tournament but affirmed his current state of confidence. Since overcoming an injury that sidelined him from the Madrid Open, he has secured two consecutive titles. Earlier in June, he clinched his first French Open title by defeating Jannik Sinner in the final.

Embracing the Grass-Court Style

Alcaraz expressed his admiration for the unique style of play that grass courts demand.

"The style that the people bring to the court when they play on grass, I think is so beautiful," he said. "The sound of the ball, the movement is really tough -- but when you get it, it's like you're flying.”

He further elaborated on his affinity for aggressive, net-oriented play, incorporating slices and dropshots, which he believes aligns perfectly with the grass-court surface.

Alcaraz is set to begin his Wimbledon campaign with a first-round match against Fabio Fognini of Italy on Monday, June 30.
