Despite his experience, Alcaraz admitted to feeling unusually nervous. He said it felt like his first time playing at Wimbledon.
"It felt like it was the first time. Wimbledon is different," Alcaraz told reporters. "I could feel today that I was nervous in the beginning... I was struggling a little bit."
Looking ahead, Alcaraz is set to face British qualifier Oliver Tarvet in the second round. While many anticipate an easy win for the defending champion, Alcaraz is taking nothing for granted.

Alcaraz insists on respecting every opponent, regardless of their ranking. He plans to bring his best tennis to the court.
"If he's here, he's in the second round; it's because he deserves it. He's playing great tennis," Alcaraz said. "I have to have respect for him... I have to be ready for, and I'm trying to play my best without thinking about the ranking and anything else."
Tarvet previously secured a surprise victory over 28th seed Alexander Blockx. Alcaraz aims to elevate his game and build momentum as he progresses through the tournament.
