Vir Das, the renowned stand-up comedian and actor, known for his wit and honest opinions, has shared his thoughts on Aamir Khan's latest film, 'Sitaare Zameen Par'. The movie, which premiered on Friday, June 20th, is a remake of the Spanish film 'Champions' and features children with disabilities alongside Aamir Khan and Genelia D'souza Deshmukh.

Das expressed his admiration for the film, stating, "Folks! Go see #SitaareZameenPar Not just because it’s REALLY good and breezy. Not just because the ensemble wins your heart. Not just because it’s someone of massive stature constantly sharing his platform for meaningful content. Not just because it’s a departure from the action overload. But also because it’s genuinely funny."

He further elaborated on the film's comedic elements, highlighting its unique approach to humor. "In a comedy scene one party has to hold power and drive. That’s basic comedy 101. The best comedy surprises you with that choice. It wears its heart on its sleeve and gives power, prominence, and punch lines to those comedy normally doesn’t. That makes it WAY funnier. Go see it! In theatres now."

Despite initial projections of a single-digit opening, trade analysts anticipated the movie to earn between Rs 7-8 crore on its first day. However, 'Sitaare Zameen Par' exceeded expectations, grossing approximately Rs 11.7 crore, according to Sacnilk. Positive word-of-mouth is expected to contribute to further growth in box office numbers over the weekend.
