Pakistani Band Pays Moving Tribute to Late Zubeen Garg with 'Ya Ali' Performance in Karachi

The late Assamese singer, Zubeen Garg, who captured hearts across India and beyond, was honoured in a touching tribute by Pakistani band Khudgharz during their recent concert in Karachi. The band performed his iconic hit 'Ya Ali' from the 2006 Bollywood film 'Gangster', starring Emraan Hashmi, Kangana Ranaut and Shiney Ahuja.Taking to their official Instagram handle, 'Khudgharz' wrote, "From Karachi With Love, Zubeen Garg, you’ll always remain a part of our playlists. Thank you."Fans from both sides of the border were moved by the gesture, one user commented, "This shows that art has no boundaries!" Another wrote, "I wish he knew how loved he was. He is not only celebrated in his motherland but also elsewhere. Truly a legend."Another fan added, "Thank you for showing love for our beloved Zubeen Garg. He always loved all and was against anything that divided people. He never followed any religion and worked for humanity. For people, for animals and for the environment.""So happy to see this. Music, sports, any form of art should be celebrated without any pre notions or prejudice. This makes me so happy," said another user. Zubeen Garg’s sudden demise had left his family and fans in shock. As reported by PTI, recently Garg’s wife, Garima Saikia Garg, and his sister, Palme Borthakur, have demanded clarity about the circumstances surrounding his demise.Garima wrote on Facebook, "...we will be together again, very soon Goldie (the name by which Zubeen was called by the family). But now, very soon, I/we all want to know the reason why you went away physically from us...Why? This is a big question. This question is burning my empty heart day and night. I want an answer..."Palme added, "You will again call me 'Momon' (her pet name)...when we meet on the other side...now we have only one goal...to ensure justice for you." She also urged people to provide mental support to the family and help them get justice for Zubeen.Following public concern over the circumstances of Zubeen’s demise, several individuals have been arrested. These include his manager Siddhartha Sharma, musician Shekharjyoti Goswami, singer Amritprava Mahanta, and North East India Festival organiser Shyamkanu Mahanta.
