Team India Mohammed Siraj has been awarded the ICC Player of the Month for August following his outstanding performance in the final Test against England. Ireland's Orla Prendergast was also honoured with the same award for the month.
Siraj's match-winning performance on the last day of the Test series at The Oval helped India secure a victory by six runs against England.
On the final morning of the fifth Test, Siraj claimed three crucial wickets and finished with a total of nine wickets in the match, helping India level the series 2-2. However, his heroics in Test cricket were not enough to earn him a place in India’s squad for the ongoing T20 Asia Cup.

"It is a special honour to be named ICC Player of the Month. The Anderson–Tendulkar Trophy was a memorable series, and it was one of the most intense contests I have been part of," Siraj said.
"I am proud that I could contribute with some important spells, especially in the decisive moments. Bowling against a top batting line-up in their home conditions was challenging, but it also brought out the best in me."
In the women's category, Prendergast emerged victorious over Pakistan's Muneeba Ali and the Netherlands' Iris Zwilling to claim the award.
The Irish all-rounder earned Player of the Series honors in a home T20I series against Pakistan, leading her team to a 2-1 victory. She accumulated 144 runs and took four wickets in the series.
Prendergast continued her impressive form in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier, scoring 244 runs and claiming seven wickets during August.
