Rishab Shetty’s critically acclaimed film 'Kantara Chapter 1' is all set to arrive in Kerala theatres on October 2, 2025.Malayalam actor-filmmaker Prithviraj Sukumaran presents the film in Kerala. Taking to his Instagram handle, the 'Empuraan' actor shared a poster for 'Kantara Chapter 1' and penned a note that read, "The saga of the #LEGEND begins #KantaraChapter1 Advance Bookings Open TOMORROW from 12:30 PM across Kerala. In Cinemas #KantaraChapter1onOct2."
According to a report by Kerala Box Office Twitter page, the Kerala FDFS for 'Kantara Chapter 1' starts at 6:30 am, October 2.
Initially, the Kerala release faced issues due to Prithviraj’s theatrical share demand in the first two weeks, which went against standard norms for dubbed movies. A standoff with the exhibitors’ federation caused a delay, but the issue was solve later.

Advance bookings for 'Kantara Chapter 1'

Kerala fans eager to catch the film can book their tickets starting September 28 at 12:30 pm. Overseas bookings for the epic drama movie led by Rishab Shetty have already begun. The North India advance booking schedule was revealed earlier, while AP, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu regions are expected to have their bookings live by the weekend.According to the Sacnilk website, 'Kantara: A Legend Chapter-1' recorded a strong advance booking gross on its first day across India: Kannada 2D – Rs 3.69 Cr, Telugu 2D – Rs 75,000, Hindi 2D – Rs 3,27,000, totaling Rs 3.7 Cr with over 96,000 tickets sold nationwide.

Directed by Rishab Shetty, 'Kantara Chapter 1' stars Rishab Shetty himself, along with Rukmini Vasanth, Gulshan Devaiah, and Jayaram in pivotal roles. 'Kantara Chapter 1' is surely the most awaited films in October and the expectations are high. For the Malayali audiences, the inclusion of the veteran actor Jayaram, probably in an antagonist role, is surely an exciting factor. Earlier Jayaram was seen in the Suriya starrer action drama 'Retro' which unfortunately failed to impress the audiences.
