This cinematic endeavor marks Kajol's return two years after her OTT debut in The Trial: Pyaar, Kaanoon, Dhokha. During the promotion of The Trial, when asked which real-life person she would put on trial, Kajol jokingly nominated her husband, Ajay Devgn. "I’d put Ajay Devgn on trial and I don't even need to give any reason for it. Being a husband is more than a reason to put him on trial — and knowing him, he will even accept the charges," the actress playfully stated. This comment quickly gained traction, highlighting the couple's playful banter and comfortable relationship.

Now, the duo is set to collaborate once more, this time on the big screen. Maa is touted as one of Kajol’s most emotionally charged performances in recent years, delving into the journey of a mother navigating personal loss, resilience, and profound sacrifice. Industry insiders have praised the film, emphasizing Kajol's portrayal of a character with significant emotional depth.

During the promotion of Maa, Kajol confessed her dislike for horror films. “There are so many things in life that scare you naturally. You don't have to watch a movie, basically,” she explained. Despite her aversion, Kajol is surrounded by family members who are enthusiastic fans of the genre. “My husband, my son, my nephews — everybody around me loves, loves, loves horror. They watch at least one film every week. Come hell or high water.”

Kajol admits to watching a few horror classics, but with a unique approach. “I watch these films without sound. Without sound, I’m not that scared,” she laughed. It's a technique many viewers can relate to – silencing the jump scares while still experiencing the eerie visuals.
