Tiger Shroff’s ‘Baaghi 4’ records lowest Wednesday collection in the franchise’s history
Tiger Shroff's return to the Baaghi franchise with Baaghi 4 hasn't revived his luck, as the film is performing below expectations. The film's underwhelming performance is attributed to its repetitive nature and 'A' rating, hindering family audiences, potentially leading to the lowest lifetime collection in the series.
Heropanti may have been the debut film of Tiger Shroff but it was with his Baaghi series that he established his authority as an action star. The Baaghi franchise has till now come up with four installments and the latest one seems to be getting the least amount of love from the audience since the start of the franchise in 2016.After a couple of misfire Tiger returned to the franchise in the hope of reviving his luck but it plan doesn’t seem to be in track. Baaghi 4 took an opening of Rs 12 crore which was just a bit higher than Baaghi’s day 1 collection of Rs 11.85 crore, but it couldn't breach the numbers set by Baaghi 2 and 3. Then when it came to the first weekend, it collected the lowest number amongst the series. And now even on the 6th day the film hasn't been able to go past any of the past three films first Wednesday numbers.
Tiger, 'Overwhelmed'—thanks fans for embracing Ronnie all over again as 'Baaghi 4' hits screens
Baaghi 4 on its first Wednesday collected just Rs 2.25 crore , its lowest collection and also the lowest Wednesday collection of the franchise. Baaghi which released in 2016 had minted Rs 4.55 crore which is the double of Baaghi 4’s collection and Baaghi 2 had collected Rs 9.10 crore which is more than 4 times Baaghi 4 and Baaghi 3 had collected Rs 8.03 crore which is 3.5 times the latest release’s collection. The way the film is going ahead, the film would be able to cross the Rs 50 crore mark only over its second weekend. And it seems very likely the film will end up with the lowest lifetime collection of the franchise.
Multiple factors have contributed to not so encouraging run for the film, first being the deja vu quality of the film with regards to other films in the series. The audience has seen most of what the franchise had to offer, it needs a serious reboot if the talents involved want to take the franchise ahead. Also the ‘A’ certificate of censor board deterred the family audience to the cinema halls.Baaghi 4 also features Sanjay Dutt, Harnaaz Sandhu, Sonam Bajwa and Shreyas Talpade.
