Asia Cup hero Tilak Varma revealed that Pakistan players had "a lot to say" to him when he walked out to bat in the Asia Cup final, which only spurred the young Indian batter to play one of the most defining innings of his career.

Having lost early wickets, India were in a precarious situation when Tilak came to the crease. Considering the rivalry and hostilities between the two sides, the Pakistan players did not hold back their words. Tilak, however, kept his composure and produced a batting masterclass under pressure.

"I wanted my bat to do the talking. They were saying a lot of things, I just wanted to respond with my bat. Now they are not visible on the ground," Tilak said in a conversation with teammate Shivam Dube on BCCI.TV.
